Quantum optics of soliton microcombs

چکیده

Soliton microcombs -- phase-locked microcavity frequency combs have become the foundation of several classical technologies in integrated photonics, including spectroscopy, LiDAR, and optical computing. Despite predicted multimode entanglement across comb, experimental study quantum optics soliton microcomb has been elusive. In this work, we use second-order photon correlations to underlying processes an silicon carbide microresonator. We show that a stable temporal lattice solitons can isolate below-threshold Gaussian state from any admixture coherent light, predict all-to-all be realized for state. Our work opens pathway toward soliton-based resource.

The Peregrine soliton in nonlinear fibre optics

The Peregrine soliton is a localized nonlinear structure predicted to exist over 25 years ago, but not so far experimentally observed in any physical system1. It is of fundamental significance because it is localized in both time and space, and because it defines the limit of a wide class of solutions to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE). Here, we use an analytic description of NLSE bre...

Application of Quantum Inequalities to Quantum Optics

We establish a connection between quantum inequalities, known from quantum field theory on curved spacetimes, and the degree of squeezing in quantum-optical experiments. We prove an inequality which binds the reduction of the electric-field fluctuations to their duration. The bigger the level of fluctuation-suppression the shorter its duration. As an example of an application of this inequality...

Soliton-Guided Quantum Information Processing

We describe applications of solitons and soliton collisions to the transport, transfer, and beam-splitting of qubits carried by optical photons. The transport and transfer realize the “flying qubits” necessary for quantum information processing, and the beam-splitting leads, in theory, to an implementation of quantum computing using linear optics. These proposed applications are embedded in a u...
